Core Point Human Rights Policy
At Core Point we don’t want to pay lip service only to preserving and recognising the rights of individuals, we commit to it as one of our primary responsibilities, upholding in it’s entirety, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights . Living and working in a global society demands that we understand a broad range of issues relating to the individual and cultural differences of our employees, contractors, business partners, their families and the communities in which we work and live.
We commit to community consultation as part of the process to bring us closer together as a wider society, so that we can genuinely understand the views, beliefs and motivations of those communities in which we circulate and work.
Our human rights principles are
- We uphold the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity and will never discriminate based on gender, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, cultural background, social standing, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, age or political persuasion.
- Core Point will implement systems and processes to protect the health, safety and security of it’s employees and contractors and by extension to the communities in which we operate.
- We respect the right of individuals to express their views and participate in any community activities and feedback mechanisms without fear of company reprisal.
- We recognise that our people have the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with just compensation.
- We are committed to providing fair and favourable work conditions for all employees and contractors and will not employ forced or child labour.
- We proactively provide channels which support the development, learning and sharing of information while allowing for safe and reliable means to report any misconduct without reprisal.
In line with the above principles we are committed to 'diversity' in the work place and uphold the following principles.
Basic principles of equity and diversity are
- Equal Opportunity - All Australian citizens and legal residents are deemed equal and must be afforded equal opportunities to bid for appropriate employment based on their talents, skills, abilities, knowledge, experience and potential for future development
- Fair Reward - All successful candidates irrespective of age, culture, race, religion, marital status, education, language and gender, should be adequately and fairly rewarded, commensurate with their talents, skills, abilities, knowledge, experience and potential for future development.
- Respect and Consideration - All persons are to be treated with respect and due consideration should be given to special needs which may arise as a result of background, diversity and/or being a member of a special target group.
