Our environmental vision - “We will deliver a positive impact on the world around us by implementing proactive measures to sustain the environment for future generations

Our policy which is supported by management is to
  • Increase the understanding of our staff and partners to recognise the impact of business operations on the environment in order to minimise the damaging effects that may occur. This includes provision of information, instructions and training necessary to fulfil our environmental policy.
  • Fully comply with the current legislation and to take a proactive approach to future legal requirements or obligations.
  • Seek to conserve natural resources by ensuring the responsible use of energy, water and materials and still provide the quality of service expected by our people and our partners.
  • Measure performance and set objectives that will be regularly revisited with the aim of continuous improvement by reducing, reusing or recycling in areas such as water consumption, waste materials produced and energy consumption.
  • Source products that have minimal environmental impact including but not limited to packaging, recyclable products, local sourcing of services and products and energy efficient electrical equipment.
  • Encourage our 'people’ to work in an environmentally responsible manner. To that end the directors have established an annual award program to recognise and reward innovative ideas or actions that improve or meet our environmental targets.

We have targets to improve in the following areas
  • Energy efficiency – reduce consumption by up to 30%
  • Water efficiency – target 140
  • Lighting – energy efficient lighting in all offices
  • Heating and cooling
  • Appliance efficiency
  • Office products and disposables
  • Unnecessary expenditure – how can we cut our bills
  • Recycling & waste – reduce waste and recycle as much as possible
  • Transport

The stakes are high. We recognise that although the environmental component may only be a small part of the total project cost, the impact on the bottom line can be enormous. We take care to understand partner and project needs on an individual basis. Our aim is to add value to our partners’ projects and do it at a minimal cost.

We also assist our Business Partners to do the same as we do, starting with compliance and moving steadily towards maintaining business viability while providing economic, environmental and social dividends.

We are working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency to achieve ecoBiz partnership in 2009 and realise the business benefits of doing so.
